Lauren Cooper is an ordinary woman who does extraordinary things!
Can you imagine running a full marathon across terrain hot enough to literally melt the glue that’s holding your sneakers together?
Well multiply that by 7 and you have the Marathon des Sables: a 6-day, self-supporting race across the Sahara in 40-50 degree heat, carrying your own food, cooking equipment, water, and bedding and literally running the distance of 7 full marathons in 6 days.
Harder still to imagine the decade of her life before that and going through an 8-year of life journey with her husband as they both dealt with his long and ultimately terminal illness and how that changed Lauren's attitude to how she would live life.
We’re all shaped by the lives we live and Lauren is no exception.
In this amazing conversation we cover the many phases of Lauren's remarkable, yet completely normal, life and how she has made new choices and decisions that have taken her to new and interesting places geographically, physically, emotionally, and in her education and career.
