Embracing Self-Love and Body Positivity

Lets dive deep into the concept of
loving ourselves naked 

 

What does that truly mean?  

 

Typically, “loving yourself naked” is seen as a promise or a benefit of losing weight. However, let's pause for a moment and reflect on what happens when we look in the mirror and don't embrace self-love in our rawest form? 

 

Often, we catch a glimpse of ourselves and immediately notice our perceived flaws, those bulging bits that make us feel self-conscious.  

 

But here's the reality: if we can't love ourselves naked, bulging bits and all, then the likelihood of loving yourself naked, even if you look like a model, is going to be unlikely as we’ve missed the point that love is about who we are, not how we look. 

 

What are we doing when we fail to embrace self-love while looking in the mirror? 

 

We're essentially telling ourselves, "I don't like how you look, and I won't accept you until you resemble a model."  

 

When we don't love the body we have right now, it's easy to be unkind to it because, we’ve objectified it.  

 

But how can we love a body that seems to betray us? 

 

I remember when I first encountered the idea of loving myself as I am, with all my imperfections—my 20 extra kilos of fat distributed unevenly across my body.  

 

It felt as though my body was working against me as it pushed me towards sugary, unhealthy foods, and lure me to the couch, sabotaging my efforts time and time again. I couldn't help but feel resentful and ask, "Why do you go against me?" 

 

Yet, the truth is, I had unknowingly conditioned my body to behave this way 

 

It wasn't intentional, of course, I wasn't aware of the patterns I was reinforcing.  

 

Neither the less, that’s the reality, which demonstrates the remarkable intelligence of our bodies and offers proof that we can retrain them to embrace change if we know the process to follow.  

 

But the process requires patience and love and to have patience and love we have to humanize ourselves. 

 

How do we begin to humanize ourselves? 

 

We start by loving ourselves just as we are, knowing that we possess a loving heart and we’re genuinely good people. 

 

When we love ourselves unconditionally and remember we are loving human beings with kind hearts, we’ll prioritize spending time outdoors, moving our bodies, laughing, socializing, and genuinely caring for ourselves, we’ll naturally engage in self-care.  

 

And as our bodies return to the patterns we’ve taught them, pulling us towards old unhealthy behaviours, our job is to have mature conversations with ourselves and move towards a new way of living. 

 

When we love ourselves, we begin to reimagine how we treat ourselves in every aspect of life. 

 

Loving ourselves naked, just as we are in this very moment, is the most crucial step we can take. It paves the way for creating positive change in our lives. When we love ourselves unconditionally, we naturally engage in acts of self-care and kindness. 

 

Let's embark on this journey together, embracing self-love and body positivity. Loving yourself naked right now is the shortest path to manifesting the changes you seek. 

 

Remember, the journey towards happiness begins now. Embrace it wholeheartedly and savour every step along the way. Don't wait any longer - your transformation awaits!
