DEALING WITH OVERWHELM
It happens doesn’t it, we find ourselves looking at the scales and wondering how the heck did that happen? When did that number get so big? And how on earth are going to get it back down?
It can be very overwhelming, but it can also be very empowering.
Because it’s in those moments we wake up and decide enough is enough, it’s time to do something.

SET REALISTIC GOALS
Know the direction you’re heading (losing 20kg) but set your goals based on what aspects you have to change that will lead to that result.

You don't have to dive into a super restrictive diet or intense workout regimen from day one – or at all for that matter. Start with tiny adjustments. Think about the food you’re having daily and start making small adjustments every day in every meal. Not only does small changes lead to big results over time, but it will inspire new ideas, create momentum, give you small daily wins that will provide the feeling of success that will keep you moving forward.
FIND ENJOYABLE ACTIVITIES
Make the process enjoyable. Start small and build up. If you haven’t exercised in a while, you’ll need to build up your body at a pace that will energize you, not leave you feeling sore and fatigued. Find activities you genuinely enjoy, it doesn’t matter what it is, the more enjoyable it is, the more you’re going to want to do it. Getting started and in to the routine of moving your body is the path to building up your fitness regime.
PRIORITIZE YOU
Balancing a busy life requires you to be feeling your best so prioritize sleep, understand your personal responses to stress and think about small ways you can alter that response that will leave you feeling more in control of your emotions, make sure you get outside time every day, we are all like Superman, a good dose of sunshine does wonders for our mindset and energy. A healthy lifestyle is not just about the body but also the mind.
FLEXIBILITY IS KEY
Deprivation will lead to habit relapse, and we find our freedom when we allow ourselves things that give us actual joy. It’s about discovering the difference and distinction between foods that give you actual joy and emotional eating.
BUILD A SUPPORT SYSTEM
Build a team of supportive people around you. It doesn’t have to be friends and family and sometimes it works better if it’s strangers as they’re more likely to give you critical feedback that will lead you forward rather than well-meaning comfort. Having the right support team can be the difference between struggling and succeeding.
Success ultimately comes from the power of small sustainable adjustments, those 1% improvements, the marginal gains and the powerful positive impact it has on your mindset to keep moving forward and build momentum.
